KILGANNON

Mary Lowell thought she knew what her future would hold - marriage to handsome Robert Campbell and a pampered life amidst the elite of London's society. Alex MacGannon, the Earl of Kilgannon, is in London to enlist economic and political help for his beleaguered Scotland, and love is far from his mind. But fate has other plans for these two. From the moment they meet, everything is changed. And suddenly the future looks very different.

Despite her aunt's warnings about the danger and hardships of life in the Highlands, Mary marries her handsome Scotsman. She quickly learns that marriage to a Scottish laird involves complications that she's never considered, while Alex finds that having a beautiful, intelligent wife can sometimes make life difficult. And as if settling into marriage and sharing their life isn't challenging enough, the threat of betrayal and war swirls over Kilgannon, threatening their happiness and the lives of the clan.

And someone is trying to kill Alex.

"Givens's debut romance - set in England and Scotland during the early 1700's, when tensions ran high during Queen Anne's reign - subtly weaves of tale of personal and historical conflict. Alex displays both a sense of humor and unshakable integrity, and Mary's quiet strength is revealed through her first-person narration."
- Publishers Weekly

"KILGANNON is neither syrupy-sweet nor predictable. Proper British lady Mary Lowell and rugged clan boss Alex MacGannon make a terrific, loving couple and move through assorted trials with ease. The Scottish Highlands have rarely been more inviting. THE WILD ROSE OF KILGANNON is the next installment of the Mary-and-Alex story. The narrative is compelling as Alex devotes himself to the fight for Scottish independence - and pays heavily."
